My Summer in Sierra Leone

What Brings Me to Freetown...

This summer I am interning with the Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, as part of her Mayor’s Delivery Unit (MDU). I'll be working with my friend and fellow co-intern, Esther Hallsdóttir, to monitor, evaluate, and strengthen gender indicators in the city. We're looking forward to spending this summer learning from the women of Freetown, visiting the various projects underway in the city, and speaking with the Mayor's team leads to develop performance metric frameworks for the MDU.
